Self-refer your pregnancy to BNSSG

BNSSG is an NHS service providing a single point of access for all maternity referrals in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.. The aim is to make sure you have access to the right care from day one. BNSSG will triage your referral based on the information you provide and the hospital will contact you to start your antenatal care. In the meantime if you are worried about your pregnancy, please tell your GP straight away.

Welcome to Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) maternity services. Please use this link if you are pregnant and wish to refer for antenatal maternity care at either University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust UHBW (St Michael's or Weston General Hospital) or North Bristol NHS Trust NBT (Southmead or Cossham). Please complete this self-referral form and a member of the team will be in touch to book your first appointment with the community midwife. We recommend you complete this form as soon as you know you are pregnant; it should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. If you need help completing this form, please contact the booking team Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm on 0117 342 0850 (University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust) or 0117 414 6743 (North Bristol NHS Trust).

You can also use this to refer a pregnancy on behalf of a woman.

NHS 111

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre
  • If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
